 6.PREPOSITION (విభక్త్యర్ధ పదము) :

A preposition is a word used to exhibit the relation between a noun or a pronoun and every other phrase in a sentence .

ఒక noun కు గాని, pronoun కు గాని ముందుంచబడి, అవి తెలియజేయు వ్యక్తులకు లేక వస్తు పులకును మరియు ఇతర వాటికిని గల సంబంధమును తెలుపు మాటలను prepositions అంటారు.

Prepositions are five kinds:

1. Simple Prepositions :

 రెండు మాటలను కలిపే చిన్న, చిన్న మాటలను సింపుల్ ప్రిపోజిషన్స్ అంటారు.

Ex: at (వద్ద), near (దగ్గర) out (బయట), on (మీద), till (వరకు), by (ప్రక్కన, వలన), in (లో, లోపల) from (నుండి), into (లోపలికి), over (వైన), with (తో), down (క్రింద), off (ఎడముగా), of (యొక్క), through (గుండా), under (క్రింద, దిగువ).

2. Compound Prepositions :

Which are generally formed by prefixing a preposition to a Noun, an Adjective or a Adverb.

ఒక Noun కు గాని ఒక Adjective కు గాని, ఒక adverb కు గాని , ముందు a గాని, be గాని చేర్చుటచే ఏర్పడు_prepositions ను కాంపౌండ్ ప్రిపోజిషన్స్ అని అంటారు.

 

Ex: Across (అడ్డముగా), above (వైన), about (గురించి, సుమారు), among (వానిలో, వారిలో), admist (నడుమ, మధ్య), amongst (మధ్య) around (చుట్టును), behind (వెనుక), before (ఎదుట, ముందు ముందర), - below | (క్రింద), beside (ప్రక్కన), neath (దిగువున, క్రింద, అడుగున), between (మధ్య), beside (ప్రక్కన), beyond ! ( అవతల), outside (బయట, వెలుపల), inside (లోపల), without ( లేకుండా), within (లోపల, లో)

3. Phrase Prepositions :

Group of words used with the force of a single preposition.

ఒక ప్రిపోజిషన్ చేసే పనిని రెండు గాని అంతకంటే ఎక్కువ మాటలు కలిపి చేస్తే ఆ మాటల సముదాయమునకు phrase prepositions ( పేజీప్రిపోజిషన్స్) అంటారు.

 

Ex: According to instead of in order to

      on behalf of because of with regard to

      in regard to in favour of for the sake of

      along with in the event of in course of

4. Participle Preposition :

కొన్ని present participles, prepositions వలే పనిచేస్తే వాటిని పార్టిసిపుల్ ప్రిపోజిషన్స్ అని అంటారు.

 

Ex: concerning, considering, during, pending, regarding, |respecting, etc.

 

5. Appropriate Prepositions :

కొన్ని nouns, verbs, adjectives మరియు participles తర్వా త తప్పనిసరిగా వచ్చే prepositions ను appropriate pripositions

( అప్రోప్రియేట్ ప్రిపోజిషన్స్) అని అంటారు.

 

Ex : Write with, depend upon, fond of abide by.
